Release time:
Jul 17,2025
L'Oréal pioneers sustainable recycled paper bottles significantly reducing plastic consumption.
As a leader in the global beauty industry, L'Oréal is deeply aware of its environmental responsibility and actively committed to providing consumers with more sustainable and healthy products and packaging solutions. To this end, the Group has set ambitious environmental targets: aiming to achieve 100% recyclable or reusable packaging for all products by 2025, and to reduce the use of virgin plastic in packaging by half by 2030.
Guided by this commitment, L'Oréal not only joined the Paper Bottle Alliance initiated by PA Consulting and PulPac but also introduced a groundbreaking paper bottle through its brand Seed Phytonutrients. The bottle body is made entirely from recycled materials, primarily derived from waste cardboard and newspapers recovered by the Group. Its innovative design eliminates traditional adhesives, utilizing interlocking tabs that securely lock the bottle halves together, avoiding glue contamination and recycling issues. A thin, recyclable plastic lining inside reduces overall plastic consumption by over 60% compared to conventional plastic bottles, significantly reducing plastic pollution at the source. The entire bottle (shell and lining) is recyclable, fully aligning with circularity principles.
Seed Phytonutrients' paper bottle is more than packaging; it exemplifies L'Oréal's commitment to addressing environmental challenges through innovation and driving the industry toward sustainable development.
