The US has imposed significant tariffs on Chinese sugarcane bagasse environmental friendly tableware, mirrored by other nations (e.g., Brazil's 50%). As China's largest production base, Guangxi produced 150,000 tons in 2023. However, its US tariff preferences are cancelled, and it now faces high anti-dumping duties. Some firms have shifted production to Thailand, Indonesia, and elsewhere for indirect exporting.
