[News] Opportunities and Challenges of Pulp Molding Industry under Dual Carbon Goals
Release time:

Where there is challenge, there is opportunity
Driven by the policies of "double control of energy consumption" and "carbon neutrality", the pulp molding industry has ushered in new development opportunities.
About 28% of global carbon emissions come from industrial production, of which plastic account for 4%, accelerating the process of plastic ban and plastic restriction.
Since the time when China implemented the plastic restriction policy in 2007, more than 30 countries and regions have legislated to restrict the use of plastics.
Pulp molding has significant advantages as an eco-friendly alternative: the raw material is with plant fibers like sugarcane, bamboo, and wheat straw, and the production process is with lower carbon;
Compared with plastic packages, it can effectively reduce industrial carbon emissions by 4%. However, the industry is also facing the pressure of energy consumption control and needs to strike a balance between capacity expansion and energy conservation and emission reduction.
With the advancement of the "30·60" Dual Carbon Goals, pulp molding has broad substitution space in areas such as food packaging, but it is necessary to break through technical bottlenecks and achieve the coordinated development of green production and scale benefits.
