Molding Process Innovation: Commercial Application Breakthrough of Multi-Layer Co-Extrusion Direct Pressing Technology

Traditional pulp molding equipment mostly adopts a single-layer molding process, which has obvious limitations in the production of thick-walled products and performance regulation, making it difficult to meet the composite requirements of high-end packaging for strength, water resistance, and functionality. In 2026, the multi-layer co-extrusion direct pressing technology has achieved large-scale commercial application, becoming a core breakthrough in process innovation. Through a multi-channel pulp conveying system, this technology injects fiber pulps with different formulas and functions into the mold cavity simultaneously to realize one-time molding of multi-layer structures. It can accurately adjust the fiber ratio and performance of each layer according to needs, enabling the products to have both the buffer strength of the core layer and the water and oil resistance of the surface layer.

At present, leading enterprises have overcome key difficulties such as multi-layer pulp interface fusion and coordinated control of molding pressure, and developed supporting adaptive flexible molds. The error of product wall thickness uniformity is controlled within ±0.15mm, and the compressive strength is increased to 28-35MPa, fully meeting the protection needs of high-end fields such as 3C electronics and medical consumables. Compared with traditional processes, this technology improves production efficiency by more than 40%, greatly shortens the molding cycle of thick-walled products, and provides process support for pulp molding to replace high-end plastic packaging.
