Anti-dumping investigation is close to results
As the world's largest molded fiber packages producer (with output capacity accounting for 40.5%), China occupies 90% of the U.S. market shares with its advantages over environmental protection and production costs.
In October, 2024, due to the high competitive pressure, some certain U.S. companies, together with United Labor Union, launched an investigation, alleging dumping and government subsidies on Chinese molded fiber food packages.
Nearly in March, 2025, the preliminary countervailing tax rate (5.99%-6.99%) was announced, and non-cooperative enterprises faced a punitive tax rate as high as 153.25%.
And the final ruling will be made in July, and the results of the anti-dumping investigation in May may lead to a high consolidated tax rate.
The risk of retrospective taxation puts pressure on the capital chain of enterprises.
