Minjie | A Brief Introduction to Disposable Environmentally Friendly Food Packagings
Release time:
Mar 31,2025
In the current market, there are several types of disposable environmentally friendly food packagings, and the materials vary from paper-laminated, pure plant fiber (molded fiber or say, pulp based), starch-based to PLA, etc.
These are here targeting to reduce plastic pollution by starting from the very origin.
The advantages of non-plastic include but not are limited to:
1) bio-degradable or recycable, reducing oil dependence and carbon emissions;
2) sustainable since raw materials are mostly from agricultural waste (such as bagasse, wheat straw, etc.) or fast-growing plants (like bamboo, reed), promoting resource circulation;
3) although the cost is relatively high, the environmental benefits are significant, especially suitable for scenarios with high-frequency uses, for example, takeout and large-scale events.
With successive policy support and process upgrades, disposable environmentally friendly food packagings will become the core carrier of green consumption and help achieve the "dual carbon" goal.
In the future, there's necessity to further lower down costs and increase market penetration by way of large-scale production, machinery upgrade and policy subsidies.
